Winter Sports - Basketball 2026

On Wednesday 12th August, Emily, Ellouise, Lara, Tayah, Tiarah, Empress and Penelope proudly represented Albert Street  Primary School at the District Basketball competition held at Latrobe Leisure Centre.

The girls competed against teams from NEPS, Elizabeth Street, St Mary’s and St Kieran’s. While they didn’t come away with a win, their enthusiasm and determination never wavered. They displayed fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship and persistence, continuing to give their best right until the final whistle.

A special mention goes to Emily, who, as a Year 4 student, stepped up to compete against students who were older and much bigger than her. She showed wonderful courage and determination and certainly held her own on the court!

The competition was also the perfect opportunity to show off our fantastic new Albert Street basketball tops for the first time. The team looked very smart in our bottle green and gold, and it was wonderful to see our students proudly representing Albert Street in their new uniforms.

We are very proud of the way all seven girls represented our school. Well done, team!
