Albert Street Primary School is a Government School , located in Moe’s Central Business District, it continues to be a vibrant part of Moe as it strengthens the partnership and bond it has with the community it has served so well for over 125 years. While the school’s student population remains stable at around 235 , its client base is highly mobile, resulting in children attending the school coming from diverse backgrounds.

This year we are offering 10 grades – 2x prep/one, 2x one/two, 1x two/three, 2x three/four and 2x five/six . Albert Street offers specialist programs in Mathematics, Literacy , Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Physical Education.

The school facilities include, 2 Basketball/Netball Courts, 3 designated play equipment areas, football/soccer oval, Multipurpose Room, Arts Room, Library, Canteen and ICT. As part of the Building Education Revolution, the school has recently acquired a new open planned building comprising of 4 class rooms, kitchen and an ICT learning area.

Our core learning environment focuses on numeracy and literacy as a priority while providing a dynamic and engaging learning environment that equips all students with the academic and social skills to achieve their personal best to enable them to become active and responsible community members. A literacy coach and maths specialists have been appointed to the school through National Partnership funding to support staff and students.

We have a strong culture of Performing and Visual Arts at Albert Street Primary School and offer a variety of programs and activities for the students  including:- music, dance, singing, drumming  and private keyboard and guitar lessons.  Choir, dance and music groups participate in local Eisteddfod  performances as well a in house soirees. In 2011 a group of 20 students performed in dance component of the State School Spectacular. A piece of each student’s art work is diplayed in the annual Kids’ Voice exhibition.

We nurture and encourage students to participate in athletic and sport pursuits of various kinds. The children are able to participate in specific programs that enhance their knowledge of a particular sport and develop the skills required including:- Weekly PE lessons, School Athletics and Swimming Days, Interschool Sports, the Blue Earth Program and the PMP program. Albert St Primary School is a participant in  the Active After School Community Program ( sponsored by the Australian Government and Australian Sports Commission). Activities such as basketball, roller blading, soccer and tennis have been offered to students on Tuesday and Thursdays- free of charge.
